St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School Hope in God

Summer

Being Brilliant!

At the beginning of the Summer term we put the finishing touches to our last learning experience of the Spring Term - Being Brilliant! We read part of Dr Andy Cope's book, The Diary of a Brilliant Kid, and reflected on our lives so far.  In our English lesson we learnt about Autobiographical writing and worked towards producing our own autobiography.  We even used our artistic skills to turn our autobiographies into proper books!

Beowulf by Michael Morpurgo

In our English lessons we are exploring the legend of Beowulf through a number of narrative and non-narrative tasks.  We will draft and edit newspaper articles, explanation texts and descriptive texts.  We will discuss the punctuation used in the text, including colons, commas and speech marks.  Speaking and listening activities will include a live news report and a job interview. Work we produce will be shared in our Hexham Histories Live outcome.
