St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School Hope in God

Safeguarding

The Governors and Staff of St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School are fully committed to safeguarding all of the children who belong to the school community. The school recognises its legal and moral duty to promote the well-being of children, protect them from harm, and respond to child abuse.

Parents and carers expect the school to provide a safe, secure and caring environment in which their children can flourish. To meet this expectation, the school implements a wide range of measures and policies, including the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Health and Safety Policy.

The Designated Safeguarding Leads:

  • Natalie Carless - Headteacher (Lead)
  • Laura Currie - Assistant Headteacher (Deputy)
  • Monica Hetherington - Teacher (Deputy)

Governor for Safeguarding:

  • Camilla Bracken

If you are concerned about a child’s welfare, please record your concern, and any observations or conversation heard, and report to one of the DSLs as soon as possible the same day. Do NOT conduct your own investigation.

If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff (which could suggest that s/he is unsuitable to work with children) then you should report this immediately to the Headteacher (or the CEO of Bosco CET if the concern relates to the Headteacher) – who will consider what action to take.

Considering St Wilfrid's for your child? Come and visit us at any time; call the office to make an appointment. We look forward to meeting you!
