School Uniform

School Uniform

We are proud of our pupils and see them as ambassadors for our school when they wear the school uniform. The uniform has been designed to be practical and comfortable and there is an expectation that all children wear it. We carry out regular uniform checks and expect support from families when we voice a concern regarding uniform.

When we attend a special event, we make sure that we are dressed smartly and appropriately. This shows that we care about what we are doing and gives us a sense of occasion. Education is a wonderful occasion and a great privilege; therefore, the children’s uniform should reflect this.

Children will wear their uniform 5 days a week and will change in school for PE lessons and all after school sports and dance clubs. The only time a child should come into school in anything other than their uniform, will be on their birthday, as part of a Shining Light Reward or on a ‘Home Clothes’ day. The exception to this is Selsey Class children on a Wednesday who wear their Woodland School outfit all day.

  • All hair that is long enough to be tied up should be tied up completely, regardless of your child’s gender. Top Buttons
Children must have their top button done up, please ensure this is the case when they arrive at school. A top button can be tight at the beginning of the year, but if they have the right size shirt, there should be no issue.

Skirt and Dress Length
Skirts and dresses should be within 5cm of the knee. Overly short skirts are not appropriate for active playtimes, sitting on the carpet and other school based activities.

Shoes - Girls

Ballet pumps without a strap are not acceptable school shoes, as they constantly fall off when children are running and cause so many trips and falls.
